Nomar Mazara (’13-’14, OF/ Texas) 2-4, hit a solo tie-breaking HR (3) in the eighth and then threw out a runner at home to hold the lead for the Rangers.

 

AWARDS:

Nomar Mazara was named the American League Rookie of the Month.

 

BIRTHDAYS:

Kellin Deglan (’11-’12, ’14, C) turns 24.

Mike Hofius (’05-’06, 1B) turns 34.

 

TRANSACTIONS:

Cody Ege (’13, P) was optioned by the Miami Marlins to AAA New Orleans.
